Interview with Wolfgang Vogl

Contemporary witness video on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Südzucker Group

Wolfgang Vogl began his career at Südzucker AG in 1988 as an engineer for measurement and control technology and electrical engineering at the Plattling factory. The company's expansion into the newly formed German states opened up opportunities for him to develop his skills in process engineering and power plant technology. From 1996 to 2003, he took on the position of plant manager in Offenau before moving to the group headquarters for around a year and a half, where he gained insights into Südzucker's international orientation.

From 2004, he worked as a plant manager, initially in Offenau, and two years later he also took on responsibility for the Plattling, Rain, and Regensburg factories as regional manager. During his more than 35-year career, he played a key role in the automation and digitalization of the factories and was committed to knowledge transfer and investment projects. From 2011, he was also the representative of the senior executives on the supervisory board. He retired in 2024.
