Interview with Dr. Stephan Meeder

Dr. Stephan Meeder grew up in Tübingen and studied business administration and Romance studies at the University of Mannheim, supplemented by a double degree program at ESSEC in France. After working for ABB Structured Finance, KPMG, and Bosch, he earned his doctorate in Mannheim and joined Südzucker AG in 2006 in the corporate finance department. 

Just a few months later, he took over as CFO of Saint Louis Sucre in France and drove forward the integration of the company into the Südzucker Group. After eight years in Paris, he returned to Mannheim and became CFO at CropEnergies. At CropEnergies, he held a dual role from 2020 to 2024, driving the company forward as both CFO and CEO, and was also responsible for the strategic realignment “Innovation from Biomass”. Since 2024, he has been CFO of Südzucker AG and has shaped the group's strategy with a focus on increasing efficiency.
