Interview with Dr. Fritz Georg von Graevenitz

Dr. Fritz Georg von Graevenitz grew up in a family with a strong agricultural background, but decided to study economics, history, and politics, earning a doctorate in economic history with a focus on 20th-century agricultural markets. In 2011, he joined Südzucker as a market and policy consultant, having previously worked as a researcher on sugar markets. His first position was in controlling, where he dealt with the abolition of sugar quotas and its effects. In 2016, he took over as head of the central audit and compliance department, a role that gave him deep insights into the group's processes. 

In 2019, he moved within the Südzucker Group to CropEnergies as Chief Sales Officer and became its CEO in 2024. Today, he shapes the strategic direction of CropEnergies, in particular its diversification into bio-based chemicals and sustainable energy solutions, as part of the Südzucker Group strategy.
